Having way too many problems with my citi card. I downgraded from AA exec to the $95 AF card. I was told that I would be credited the difference so I do not have to pay the $450 AF on my account, only the $95. Fast forward to today. I received the new card in the mail and I went to pay off my account with $95. The $450 balance is still showing. I have not receieved any sort of credit. And to make matters worse even though I have a bank account linked for payments and my due date is not until 5/10 I am not able to schedule a payment until 5/14. I never had this issue before when making payments. I'm annoyed that I had to take time to send in a secured message and I will hit the roof if they hit me with late fees because their website won't process my bank payment when I am trying to pay before the due date. I figure it must be some sort of bug?

Call and ask for account manager to sort out the issue with the A/F. Sometimes it takes a while for this to show up (release by statement cycle). As far as payment, it's kind of a squirrely issue they have whenever setting up a payment account online (if this is your 1st time setting that up). Just call a CSR and they will gladly process the payment over the phone (no fees)!

My bank information is still linked up from when I used the prior card. Upon further review it says $450 was the balance at last statement and then it says balance due is 0. I suspect what the CSR did is cleared the $450 and when the new cycle statement cuts they will apply a $95 AF at that time. I will see what the result of the secured message is to see if that confirms it.

Right, but when you PC or downgrade, it does funky things with payments (I had that happen once with one my accounts) but got resolved by the next statement cycle.
Citi's payment system is a** backwards, IMO. I usually would send a few dollars over my balance so that it would report at 0 when the statement closed. Mind you, I do this for Amex, Discover, BoA, Chase with no issue. Citi, however, will send me a paper check for say $20, even though I always charge over that amount within 3 days of the statement closing date. It makes no sense that their system can't maintain a negative balance past the statement close date.
FWIW, just push a payment through from your bank account - makes life 1000% easier.

Agree. All kinds of options with Citi for payments.

Use bill pay from your bank and make a payment
Sounds like they would bounce a check right back at 'ya.
I'm juggling a small BT amount on my $1k Diamond Preferred, trying to maintain that APR, and at the same time take advantage of a 5% on Groceries, Gas, Dining and Department Stores offer on the same card, without incurring any 18% APR charges, so in the last 17 days have made four payments, using the Citi site, to pay a day or so after each of those four sets of charges have posted, AND I have an autopayment already scheduled of $100 that will post tomorrow. No issues with making payments, but I have actual amounts to be paid.
Sounds like OP has a zero true balance (at least now) and that is why no payment is allowed. Pushing a payment will just result in another paper check being sent out. Sounds like Citi only wants the money they are owed, and not a dime more.

+1 This is what the issue is, so sending a payment in does no good. So far only the credit is showing, but we will see what happens after statement cuts.
