What is your Amex application timeline?

Hi,

I want an Amex card so badly that I did an app spree last month. Now I do not know whether to wait for 30 days or 6 months to apply again. Please see below:

03/18/13 - Business Green Rewards - Declined

03/28/13 - PRG - Cancelled

03/28/13 - Delta - Cancelled

04/22/13 - Business Green Rewards - Declined

Also, I read somewhere that Delta Gold is the easiest card to get. Is that true?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me your Amex app timeline.

Thanks!Smiley Happy

Re: What is your Amex application timeline?

Delta is supposedly the easiest revolver to get. The charge cards are easier to get overall though. You probably should have stopped after the first declined. You are going to need to wait 6 months (at least, IMO) now because they will think you look desperate more than likely and just continure denying you.

Edit: Also, a 631 FICO is probably a bit low for AMEX. Wait until you reach the 660-680s.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I would wait 6 months and start your relationship with them with a charge card.

+1...I agree. I applied for a Delta Gold back in August 2012 and got instantly denied, EX Fico of 673 (per letter) Waited till March 2013 to apply again and now have the Green, BCP and Costco TE. Give it a shot again in 6 months and let your scores go up a bit.

Re: What is your Amex application timeline?

It's tempting because most of my high credit limit cards were approved last month.

I just can't wait to apply again!!!

Oh how I wish 6 months is just around the corner!

While the delta is their easiest to get..... I don't think you can get it with a 631. Got to agree with the posters above

I know the feeling but trust me, let those new accounts age for about 3-6 months (preferably 6) and try again. My honest opinion, try for one of their charge cards first and if you get approved then go for the Delta Gold or even the BCE/BCP.

Re: What is your Amex application timeline?

I agree. The main reason I was denied is the low FICO.

I just do not know what else I need to do to improve my score.
