I guess at this point best to keep it open for a while. hope they are not getting your for the monthly maintenance. and AF. read where they also get you if you want a cli. who charges for a cli? May as well put a couple dollars on it and let it report. no big deal.
No Taxi. That was many years ago. I kept the account open for 1 year only. If I remember correctly, they were trying to give me a hard time about closing it--tried talking to me about some crap products or benefits.

What was so bad about the Overstock card Cap? Doesn't that card allow for frequent increases? I'm not that familiar with Overstock. Many moons ago I had an account with Damark--who I believe was later acquired by Overstock.

Hey, not too bad!
Got 16.4k and it's good padding. Plus I could use a few things from them.

Me too! I will also add that I regret wasting inquiries on Victoria Secret and a few other Comenity store cards. I cold app'd for those not knowing about the SCT, and got HPs for each. So while I still regret opening that Overstock card, at least I didn't waste a HP this time, cause for the first time I finally used the SCT ![]()

For one thing, it's butt ugly.
I guess it's an okay card as store cards go, it's just that it makes no sense for me. I have a very small consumer footprint, and I've never purchased anything from Overstock.

I guess that would irk me if I found out about the SCT menthod after-the-fact. At least you were able to take advantage of the inquiry-free Comenity SCT method for the Overstock account.
@IncrsCreditScore wrote:My worst mistake was just not paying attention to my credit, paying off the cards, then cancelling them (thought I was being smart about credit and didn't have a credit card for years), paid cash for everything except auto loan and mortgage. Then when I did apply for a credit card, I was shocked to be denied, tried another and was denied - that started me into doing some research which led me to this forum. After reading the messages for days, I finally started working on repairing my credit. So my advice to everyone is to check your credit ratings on a scheduled, routine basis, and immediately take care of anything you see that is incorrect.
I hear you. I've been down that road too.
Closing my Discover card years ago. It wasnt in default or anything. I just didnt use it and they closed it for inactivity. I had the card for 4 years. I could imagine what my limit would be now if I kept it plus on top of that good AAOA

At least you are strong enough to admit it.
But I wasn't strong enough to resist that damned pop up. In my defense, I had just been dumped from the Discover gravy train and needed a fix.
I think the Discover gravy train did a head job on many of us. I felt like a dope fiend, and I've never had a drug habit. It was like it was taking serious control over the lives of many folks. SMH

Yep I did that one too. I know how that feeling makes one sick.
