Re: What is your trophy card(s)?

Originally mine would be the amex Gold bc of NPSL and it looks the nicest.

However i needed to charge 18k for renovations and the contractor didnt accept amex, so now thats not really my trophy card. Guess it would have to be the Arrival since i ended up charging 9k on that and the rest to wife's cc. Gonna ask for a CLI after the statement cuts and i PIF.

Re: What is your trophy card(s)?

I do not think I have a trophy card but I do have a 18k Venture card. After only have credit for 8 months so I guess that would be it.

It's going to sound a bit ridiculous, but the Barclay Upromise that I just opened. I don't even have the card yet. But I have never been insta-approved for the lowest APR available on a card, ever. 13.99 isn't exactly "low" but it just made me feel special to get the lowest tier without months of APR reductions.

Go for the Barclaycard Ring.

Re: What is your trophy card(s)?

No question: BarclayCard Rewards MC.

2% rewards on groceries, gas, utilities, and (silently?) healthcare/pharmacy - which together cover the vast majority of my utilization - and 1% on everything else, with no annual fee.

I PIF multiple times per month, so I pay no interest (though they did lower my rate by 4% upon request).

I'll have had this card for a year in September, and not only have I not paid a cent for it, but I *make* anywhere from $10-$20/mo in statement credit from their rewards!

Might not represent the height of glamour, but for someone with my scores, this is by far the cream of the crop.

I'm grateful they took a chance on me, and am grateful for their continued benefits.

Starting Score 9/13/14: 570
Current Score 08/12/2021: 798
Goal Score 2021: 800

Re: What is your trophy card(s)?

My trophy card would be diners club but I do not think it is ever going to open up again.  Having a hidden TL of ammount people where getting approved for could really be a benefit in times when you do need to carry a balance.  Although that amex buisness card looks nice as well.

As far as current cards it is my Chase Amazon card.  I app'd for the darn thing 3 times before I got it.  I probably will only run amazon spend through it after discover is over but even so it is nice to finally have an in with Chase.  I was flat out told NO on any of there non co branded cards for at least a year when I called the back door as my inq's where completely unacceptable to them.  (rebuilding for the last year so I understand).  It was the AMEX PRG but i'm finding I just can't seem to find a way to justify the enourmous annual fee.  Even with the airline credit feature.  I fear this one will be chopped when the AF comes due.

Chase Marriott for sure. I love Marriotts and pretty much stay there whenever I'm on a trip and I didn't think I would even get approved because they gave me a hard time with the Freedom.

Makes me wonder what is time framr from 1st chase card (freedom) to the 2nd.Marriot hmm

Re: What is your trophy card(s)?

I'm happy with my set of cards, but I wouldn't really consider any of them trophy worthy.  However, I do consider my Venture card approval a trophy worthy instant card approval: $20,000 CL with a 12.9% APR.
