For what it's worth, I recently got approved for a 3K Freedom. Have had quite a few inquiries in the last 1.5 years (6-10), only 1 credit card before, with a 25% util. I initially got the please call us as soon as possible message, but it turned out they just confirmed some information. Happy I got it!
