No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
There is no hard and fast rule with NFCU. My advice is to use the card as you normally would and just PIF every month. When asking for a CLI, shoot for the moon - if you're eligible they will counter with a number they like.

Are they known for nice auto increases?

We havent had any increases since our cards became unsecured ... I read I ca request every 3 months ...
There are no rules to how often you can request. You can recieve a CLI every 180 days.
There are many stories of members not getting a CLI on CC #1 but then getting a huge SL on CC #2. That's the path I would choose were I in your position.
Good luck.

I wouldn't say they are known for auto increases, but they do happen. Just need to ask for the increase after you have waited long enough
