For things I'm definitely applying for at more or less a planned time, only 1:
Citi Double Cash. 2% on everything makes a great general spend card that I would use often, plus it looks nice (silly but it influences me slightly), and I want to have a Citi card in my file. Next June/July most likely, once I've gardened for a year and am out of the Discover double cash back period.
There are a LOT more on my "wishlist" of things I may or may not get, at some point who knows when. But it's not really worth listing those as totally up in the air and way down the line. Things like a low APR card, various different travel cards, etc,

btw, what is so good about Venture?
If $1 = 2 miles, 1 miles gives you 1 cent off on travel, that's $1 = 2 cents. Isn't that just 2% cash back? Did I miss something?
i plan on apping for Venture n QS at the same time. move Venture limit to QS and close it b4 the AF hits = one big limit on the QS with no AF.
Had weird call from Chase about freedom, flagged a regular store as fraudulent. With that in mind:
Get rid, add on (tentative):
Nix CU card (maybe) Jan 2016
CLD Aviator to 6k (original approval 5k, came 10k by mistake) around November 2016 (Need input as to timing, with other Barclay apps.)
Close Quicksilver, April 2016
Chase Ink Cash: May 2016 (5% cell, cable, 2% Dining, business)
Citi DC or new Quicksilver November 2016 (unsure if needed).
Sallie Mae November 2016 (5% categories) Close out Amaxon Visa
CSP or BOA Alaska Airlines (50k offer) March 2017 (replace Aviator)
Barclay Ring March 2017 (apr, doh)

The Huntington Voice card has been on my wishlist for ages. It's the only card I'd actually want to app for right now, but alas, California is not in their footprint.
Me too! This makes me out of luck for a 3% travel card. Still searching...
I need one before my ThankU Premier AF kicks in next year!
I'm actually blacklisted from Chase at the moment, however I had a recent chat with them and I feel like they'll give me a shot once my baddies drop off.
The Golden1 card is better than the AARP card though. Golden 1 is 3% on gas, groceries & restaurant. AARP is only on cas & restaurant. The 3% on groceries could be a backup to the SM card.
Honestly, I like the Golden1 card because I like finding cards off the beaten path that offer great rewards - it's fun getting stuff that not everyone has. I wouldn't actually use it or the AARP card because I already have a card that covers those categories better. The Security Service FCU Power Travel Rewards offers 3% + 10% so 3.3% on gas, travel & dining.
This is the best travel+dinning card I know so far, 3.3%.
But I'm in North TX, they serve Mid-South TX. What a close miss
It may not seem like much, but I just want to have a credit card with NFCU. I know once I'm in, the limit will grow with me. Hope to reapply in 5 months.
I went on such an app spree after getting out of debt, that I actually have more cards than I really need now. I give some cards occasional swipes just so they don't close them on me. I'll have to reevaluate and maybe cut some out. Since I got the major rewards cards already that have 0% APR for new cardholders, I might have to look at what's out there the middle of 2016 as it really has been nice having the 0% APR on my Discover for a recent purchase. I have other 0% APR ones too that I've never taken advantage of and sort of wasted them to date.

At least the Securiy Service card makes the area clear! I applied for Golden 1, and got an EQ pull, before they found out that they cannot offer credit in various states including mine. Both seem very good cards, just have to plan where you need to live!
Someday…
1. Cap1 Sony - I have a PS4 on all Sony products (TV, surround). When my CS hits 680.
2. NFCU nCash rewards - everyday purchasing. In 6-12 mths ending my secured card.
3. AMEX preferred blue. To feel like a credit bada@&/. When my CS hits 720.
But seriously…I want that Sony card more than anything.
