@Anonymous wrote:1) Double Cash, January 2016 (if my EQ score is 680+ by that point). Terrific general spending card, especially since I will have merged my Venture limit with my Quicksilver by then.
2) U.S. Bank Cash+, January 2016 (if my TU score is 720+ by that point.) Going to be used for fast food and cell phone bill, primarily.
3) Better Balance Rewards #2, April 2016 (if the card is still around by then). Going to be used to get an additional $120 a year from minimal spending.
4) Wells Fargo Propel World Amex, January 2017. With the banking relationship bonus, it's a pretty useful card for when I am not staying at a Wyndham or Marriott hotel. It's also got a nice sign up bonus, and it's hella sexy.
I am looking at the WF Propel World Amex...
Accelerate your earning potential with the card that rewards your travels.
So at most you would be getting 3x points at hotels....there are far better suited cards for travel
The citi thank you premier gives you 3 points per dollar spent on travel....and these points have flexibility to be redeemed for a higher value.
Also , no bonus on WF vs 50k bonus on citi...

- 3X points on Airlines, 2X points on Hotels, and 1X point on all other net purchases (purchases minus credits/returns).4
- You will earn an annual bonus of 10%, 25% or 50% more on non-bonus rewards points if you maintain a qualifying consumer Wells Fargo Checking or Savings Account, or PMA® Package.5
- Your points do not expire, and there is no cap on how much you can earn.

Yeah, I can't argue with that. There are definitely cards that mathematically-speaking offer the same rewards rate (or even a higher rewards rate, when you consider the annual fee!) But keep in mind with the $100 airline credit, it can be thought of as only a $75 annual fee card if you use that credit. It's not a card I would keep long term, but there actually is a sign up bonus on the card -- 40000 points after $3000 in spending in three months. The sign up bonus is intriguing enough for it to be on my radar.
CSP to use in conjunction with my Freedom- Maybe early 2017
Citi DC- Aug 2016
Otherwise pruning and gardening.

The Golden1 card is better than the AARP card though. Golden 1 is 3% on gas, groceries & restaurant. AARP is only on cas & restaurant. The 3% on groceries could be a backup to the SM card.
Honestly, I like the Golden1 card because I like finding cards off the beaten path that offer great rewards - it's fun getting stuff that not everyone has. I wouldn't actually use it or the AARP card because I already have a card that covers those categories better. The Security Service FCU Power Travel Rewards offers 3% + 10% so 3.3% on gas, travel & dining.
This is the best travel+dinning card I know so far, 3.3%.
But I'm in North TX, they serve Mid-South TX. What a close miss
At least the Securiy Service card makes the area clear! I applied for Golden 1, and got an EQ pull, before they found out that they cannot offer credit in various states including mine. Both seem very good cards, just have to plan where you need to live!
I'm trying for the rarely (if ever) seen double on the SSFCU & Golden1 cards.
I travel to Denver often for work and there is a SSFCU branch on the ground floor of our World HQ building. I picked up the Power Travel Rewards just last month. I set up checking & savings with them and ran charges through for about 6 months before applying for the CC.
I live in California and set up checking & savings with Golden1 in January as well. I'm now running my charges through this card and it will be my top target when I exit the garden in maybe the December/January timeframe. There isn't much data so I don't have any idea what their underwriting requirements are, but I'm going to give it a shot.
With the SSFCU card in hand, the greatest value in the Golden1 card for me would be the unlimited 3% on groceries as a backup to the SM.

And upgrade some of my store cards to Visa or M/C.
And that's not going to happen for another 17 months right after I get my new M3 or 4?
Might get rid of some of my older cards that I feel aren't working for me also.
You can't go wrong with Either M3 or M4!
I would love the Citi Prestige. I have no history with Citi (so no negative history with them), but they have denied me for any card I've ever tried to get with them. Their pre approval site says I'm not approved for any of their cards. All of the cards in my signature were procured since this April except my CSP and Barclaycard Apple Rewards. The first card I applied for was the Citi Prestige and I was denied, and then I was denied for the Citi Double Cash. I was approved for every single other card I applied for since then. For the next 7-9 months I'll be traveling every other week for work for 4-5 days at a time. The Citi Prestige would have saved me thousands of dollars with that fourth night free promotion.

I would go with the 4, damn sexy. But 3 feels more prestigious somehow.
