50/50. Good results.
Wow and I was being discouraged from applying for two new cards? The most I've ever applied for was two when I just started applying for credit. I applied for a Capital One card and a Citi Card at the same time. Got the Cap One. Now that my scores are better and I'm out of school I want to apply for a Discover Card/CU card and an American Eagle Store card.

I doubt that I'll apply for more than one a year now, and not every year, from here on out. I had to do a complete rebuilding of my credit profile, so I just bit the bullet.
I'm done for good. One new card every couple of years or so? I chopped my AAofA very badly in 2007 and have no need for any more credit. In hindsight the pursuit was not a good idea at all. I'd be fine with my 5K Cap One card. My scores would be 30 points higher. Live and learn.

I admire the non-app'ers dicipline. However, there is good money to be made off of cards.
Step 1 is get a handle on spending, If you are just going to abuse cards then cut them all up and be done with it, but better just to have learn some restraint.
Step 2 is to build up score, not for the purpose of having a high score, but to trade in later. If a house purchase is imminent - stop here.
Step 3 is trade score for cash. App for sign-up rewards. App once a year for a teaser rate, and then tax full advantage of a 0% rate while earning interest on that money and then PIF before teaser runs out. Definately app for a combo of a teaser rate and sign-up rewards. App to maximize day to day rewards.
Step 4 rebuild FICO. It will come back stronger every time.
Repeat often
3 accounts in the last 3 weeks. I have a limited credit history. No co's or ca's on credit report.
