Opened June 2008 with a $6000 CL. December 2008 CLI'd to $10,000, with a hard pull.
No love at the anniversary this year.

I pay my cards in full each month. I got my Discover in July. Do I have to allow Discover to earn interest from me to get a CLI?
No, but you will have to wait at least six months between them now. I've had 3 clis in 2 years - 4k to 7k - only carried a BT balance for one of those, pif'd thereafter. I used the automated system to request each - hanging up if it wanted to transfer me to a CSR.
Slow and steady, they are. But I LOVE shopdiscover. ![]()

When was the last time you received an increase using the automated system?
If you received an increase through the CSR's did it require a hard INQ?
Discover is my olderst Tradeline (opened in 1991) and one of my lowest CL's at 13,200. My last 500 CLI was in August of 2006. It's not a big deal to me, as I have far more available credit than I actually need. Compared to the others that give CLI's out like candy, I've found Discover to be rather conservative.
I last received one in in the spring - will wait until sometime in the fall to ask again. The 6 months is for customer-initiated requests - I don't know a thing about Discover-initiated cli - I've never had one.
