Good info, everyone! Thanks.
You'll notice 1400 CLI a repetitive amount for some. Interesting indeed.
I accepted a SP CLI last week and my Diamond card went from $3700 to $5100. I've had the card since 2010 and it was originally a Platinum Select card that was automatically converted to a CDP a couple of years back. My original CL was $2100 and at some point in the last four years (I can't recall when) I was bumped up $1600 and now $1400. They've been offering me a CLI for the past six months, but I never took the offer because I had planned to cancel the card, but now that the Citi Double Cash has been introduced, I decided it would be the perfect time to go for the CLI in preparation for a PC.
I went from $2500 to $3600 with my Citi AAdvantage card.
I also have an American Airlines credit card (UW by CITI) so I asked for a CLI. Was at $600 and asked for $3600, received a 7-10 day message but the site instantly updated to $3000. Ended up as an HP on TU.
I'm kicking myself on the AA card because I'm never going to use it. It provides no benefits and has an atrocious APR. I assumed it would be a SP like the Citi AA card, but ended up with the HP. Maybe I asked for too much of an increase or maybe they just don't handle those cards the same.
First one was 1100, then 1700
