My macy's charge card is showing closed by consumer on my TU, but it's not. I just used it today. Should I dispute this, and if I do will show back up as a new TL lowering my AAoA?
*UPDATE*
I called the macy's # on the report, and the lady told me that they have had an ongoing problem with TU, when accounts are closed and reopened. She said that even though it was opened and backdated, they have a hard time getting TU to update the accounts showing open. She did say they will send a message to try and get it fixed, and all of the same information should be in tact. *Fingers Crossed*
Interesting.
I just had Macy's report an account on TU that was closed back in 04,05? as closed in 12/10. this happened when they updated the payment status and caused my score to drop over 100 points (paid charge off) for re-aging. The TL was deleted within 48 hours but caused alot of damage.
I thought it was Macy's fault, but maybe it was TU.
Either way, good luck. Hopefully it'll get fixed fast.
This may be a stupid question, but were your points restored for their error?
788 dropped to 644 on Monday, then yesterday I checked again and it's up to 754. So no, I still lost 34 points.
I know i took a hit for the BOA inquiry, and my utility went from 8% to 15% so I'm not sure if that's what's causing it as well.
A couple of things I noticed lately with TU. They've been having system problems. Other posts on this site speaks of parts of TU's website being down for the past week or two, especially the Online Disputes feature which seems to be ON one day and UNAVAILABLE the next.
Next, the FICO score is separate from TU. So, if something adverse happened at TU, then FICO only recalculates what it sees at that particular moment it takes a snapshot. If TU isn't fixed, then FICO is reporting only what it's secret algorithm interprets.
