What should I do first?

Hello, I just got a chase freedom, with a 1000 bal and zero percent for 15 month. My question is I have a cc with a limit of 10,000 and a balance of 9200 with 9 percent on it. Should I do a balance transfer for the 1000 to chase or just use chase to take advantage of zero percent and the cash back at each quarters? Thank you all for your help!!

Usually the 0% does not apply to balance transfers unless it specfically states... Also, maxing out your new chase card is not in your best interest right off the bat... if I were in your shoes, I would have tried to pay down that balance to where it was less than 10% of your overal credit limit.  Lenders do not like to see consumers who have credit card balances that are close to their overall credit limits... it makes it look as though your house of cards could fall at any time! ie. more risky

Assuming you do in fact get 0% on balance transfers, then it is in your best interest to move over $1k, maxing out your Freedom card, then pay down your $10k CL card ASAP.

You can do a balance transfer within the first 30 days of the card being open without being charged a transfer fee with the Freedom.
