My limits and info is my sig but the summary: CH 7 BK dismissed May 2014. I'll be showing a 20% utilization in about 10 days and I planned to app after that.
My QS card's statement gets cut on the 5th so I was going to app on the 10th.
I'd like a balance transfer card as I have to buy some big items on my QS and I wanted to move it to a no intrest card. I burned chase in my BK so not sure what I could get let alone with my scores. My thoughts for a spree:
Sallie Mae
BT card if I have a good chance?
Discover IT (Just cause)
Citi Double
I'm interested mostly in cash back cards as I don't tend to travel but maybe once a year and don't do hotel stays otherwise.
My thought is after I get the new card(s) in my hands I was going to get rid of my Cap 1 secured card as well because there's even less of a reason to have it after I get more. Plus my shopping cards if I can get more than 1-2 new cards.
Let me know if I missed anything vital as far as info for recommendations. It's been a while since I posted

Why do you need a seperate BT card? You can almost always find a Discover application offer with 0% BTs, instead of apping for a seperate "BT oriented" card which are often useless after the BT.

*shrugs* I can use the discover just fine, just didn't know if it was needed or not. I've seen people get the slate just because its a BT card, so that's where my mind was. If I can use one of the ones I want as a BT for the first x months then I'm good with that as well.

I don't think Citi is BK friendly and if you burned Chase (depending on how much), you may never get back in (unless you are willing to pay them back). Not sure about Sallie Mae though ~ as long as you didn't burn Barclays, it's possible but your scores might be a bit low for Sallie. Have you considered their Rewards MC or Apple Visa to start?

If my scores are too low for Sallie then I was going to try to get the rewards instead. I could do the apple if there is a better chance I'd get that. That's why I'm asking for input. My goal would be the Sallie Mae card for grocery stores. Otherwise I don't have a use for the others, but at least it would be a foot in the door.
Would the rewards be more practical to try for vs Sallie Mae?

If you don't mind the HP, you could try Sallie first (let us know if you get it!) but score wise, you look to be in the range for Rewards or Apple. I started off with Rewards myself with my score in the mid-600s. You can't PC to Sallie but if you get it later, you can move your Rewards (or Apple) limit over and just close the card. That's what I did and I know TRC_WA did the same thing.
EDIT: Not sure about which is easier to get (Rewards vs. Apple) -- some say Apple is a bit easier.

If I go by the rule of "1 year and a hard pull doesn't weigh as much" My TU repor tis pretty light. I think I could stand 1 hard pull for sallie and 1 for rewards if I don't get it without much pain. Yeah TRC_WA is at least in my state so I used to follow his posts pretty close when I was more active.

Do I have to wait until the 10th? Or as soon as the statement hit... Today... is it a good idea to app? Figure it would take companies time to sync with the reports?
