Re: What should I do next??

Yea I agree. I think I'll get a new car after. No real need for it now besides a little bit more convenience.

Re: What should I do next??

In the meantime, you could contact cap1 and see if there is an offer to PC your platinum to a regular QS. You've had it a really long time. It should have that available, but some have posted otherwise.

It could give you that feeling like you're making progress without hurting your credit score.

Re: What should I do next??

They will only pc it the QS1. So I didn't see the point of changing it since I already have one. I don't know why they won't change it to the regular one yet. Buttheads

Re: What should I do next??

You don't use the cards much right?

it has to do with your score and usage PROBABLY. The QS isn't a subprime card like the platinum and QS1. You might need to wait a bit to get it.

If if you put quite a bit of spending through both of them, then you could justify the annual fee. But, if you don't then it might not be such a good idea.

If you wait the 6 months on the qs1 maybe you can PC it to a regular QS. Then roll the spending limit from the platinum. Something else, I believe if you wait 3 statements you can hit the luv button to get a SP CLI on your QS1.

Im just trying to think of things to keep you in the garden! Lol

Re: What should I do next??

I think so too. I need to raise me scores more. I'm not going to app right now. My EX 8 score dropped 72 points this morning anyways when I paid off my only baddie. Big mistake I see.

But thank you. Hopefully in 6 months I can pc it and then combine it to one card. I think eventually I'll close the cap one and get at precious discover or amex haha.

Re: What should I do next??

If you don't mind me asking, what was the baddie? Who was the lender? Was it a collection?

You should start the goodwill letter approach. It works for some people. There's lots of sample letters out there to use. If it was a collection you could have gone the PIF route. But, since you paid it, a goodwill letter is more appropriate. Might or might not work, but it's worth a shot I think.

I am working on some for my wife right now, no luck yet, but I'm as persistent as they come.

Re: What should I do next??

It was with verizon. They still owned the account but let a CA offer a settlement. They won't PFD. I tried that before I paid for it. Even if i paid in full.

I wanted to pay my debts so I just accepted the settlement and paid it. I would have just left it unpaid had I known it would drop more score almost 100 points when I paid it. I thought it being from 2014 it must have been still really bringing down my score.

Excuse me while I go cry in the corner.

I did send off another pity story to the EO. I doubt it will work though. Good luck with your wife's! I hope no verizon is on her reports haha

Re: What should I do next??

No fortunately for her it's Fedlian, which is known for doing goodwill on student loan past dues. A local CU that's small time, I'm hoping they will remove them just because it's small and local. She has some with Victoria secret too that I need to work on. I've heard it's 50-50 with them.
