I currently have a Capital one platinum secured card with a $240 limit and and an auto loan. All are in good standing and my oldest account which is the secured card is almost 2 years old. My score is 721 as of now... what would be the best next move for me to make?
I would think the Discover IT would be the way to go. They seem to be one of the easier to qualify for, and have been throwing out some nice limits lately.
With a 721 you should be good unless there is a BK lingering.
Do you have any previous derogatories?
What does the rest of your credit report look like?
Where did you get the 721 score?
What is your current UTL on your card?

IMO, nothing...until you get that util own. Because your CL is low it doesn't take much to have a high util. Is it possible to pay it down before your next statement posts?
I agree...if possible pay it off all but a few dollars and let it report with a very low UTL before you apply.

By paying down do you mean paying the entire balance? If so then yes this is possible. Should I ever carry a balance at all?
Carry a balance of just a few dollars...you do not want it to report $0 you get a better score that way.
