Is your primary goal cashback or travel rewards? If you're looking to expand into travel rewards, and if you're under 5/24, it's really hard to go wrong with the Chase UR ecosystem - with the CSP being a great first card for that (60k SUB).

A lot of people feel that travel rewards aren't the greatest option right now with the pandemic, but I feel the opposite - that it's the perfect time to accumulate a huge stash of travel rewards for when this eventually blows over

Normally I would definitely be traveling 2x a year and a travel card would be a must. But I don't plan on traveling for a year or so, so a travel card is a no at this time. I will be making somewhat large purchases soon and maybe a low interest card would be good with 0 interest for a year.

Freedom Unlimited might be a good fit then, as it has no AF and 0% 15mo intro APR, and decent everyday cashback rewards at 1.5% and 3% dining. And with whatever cashback you haven't redeemed by the time you get back into traveling again, you can convert into travel rewards with a new CSP/CSR, giving you a head start on getting back into the travel game again.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like a really good card. Like the 3% dining. also, I read it has a 3% drugstore and 5% travel.

Only downfall is I burned them back in 2011. Was a chargeoff, but paid and no longer on CR. Learned a valuable lesson. Maybe I can do a prequal.

Fellow Glock fan here by the way, haha. I burned Chase too, with 2 charged off cards in 2016. For some reason they still gave me the CFU and CSP last year, so they can be forgiving at least in some circumstances. I've heard of others that have been blacklisted for 10+ years, so YMMV. It's worth checking out the prequal page first for sure.

Thank you brother! Looking for my 3rd Smiley Happy

I went and did the pre-qual and got the dreaded "We are unable to locate any offers for you at this time" and opt-out mumbo-jumbo. Does this mean I am blacklisted? Did you get offers on your pre-qual?

I just did their prequal page too, and got the same message.

Originally, I was pre-qualified when I logged into my Chase checking account and saw the infamous "green checkmarks" on offers for those 2 cards, and applied for both of them. In the time since, I've never seen anything like that pop up again.

Your scores seem good enough to handle a couple inqiries, so it might be worth a try just cold-applying for it, but if it were me I'd try a few other pre-qual sites and see what else is out there first. Amex Gold might be another one to look into, and they've also got a pre-qual page.

I did, and I'm prequalified for the AMEX Gold and the Navy Platinum with 5.99%
