Got income question with Amazon also. Question.....Should I close Gap and reduce exposure? Have about $50K exposure with Synchrony (Lowes, Sams, WM, Amazon, Care Credit, Sunglass Hut).
It probably wouldn't hurt to quietly reduce exposure by closing one card at a time of those you never use...As long as you don't attract the eagle-eye of Risk Management by increasing exposure, you should be OK
That made me even more nervous. I also forgot I have the JCP and American Eagle card. I'm not sure I will be quietly reducing exposure......Should I just go buy something small on the Gap and pay it off? Really don't need the card. I'd like to close a couple but don't think that's a good idea. They're just store cards, not the Visa but that may be worse.

Everything is your call, of course, but I would keep the cards I need. I closed one Synchrony card because it lost it's usefulness. We are just trying to keep eveyone informed, so please don't be overly nervous or concerned.

I don't understand why you were ok with 5k on your carecredit (for 5 yrs), but when given a SL of 10k on a new Marvel, you called for a CLI? Maybe that's why the Blue envelope?
Yes that is indeed correct. I requested one online, another via phone call, and another one via supervisor. I guess I left that detail out and was denied for all.

Hey Red, did you do that all in one day? Perhaps they thought it was too desparit( needy, sorry cant spell that word for the average in me). If you did this within a certain time frame perhaps it kicked off an alarm with their computers saying this person looking for lots of credit within short timeframe. I dont know just a guess.
Ccpat, the good thing is if the card is something you really dont want or use anymore, just think of that as a backup. Close the one you want and if it affects the other, ah well, you were gonna close it anyway. I maintain in the back of my head should i ever run into problems with them, ill just be proactive and close all my accounts. This is also why im trying not to maintain huge balances so if that day ever came, my utilization would not be destroyed lol.
When I was approved for the card, I did it the same day. Then I called in the next morning to a service agent and I escalated to a Supervisor when I declined.
