What to do next?? Advice needed.

Here's the deal.

In the next coming months & after Christmas I will be making some purchases. I'm going back to see my parents in the UK with my wife & little boy. The flights are going to cost around $2500 & I will also be putting a large purchase which will run me about $1500

Currently my cards are
Discover CL - $1000 / $300
Capitol one -CL $1500 / $0
Chase freedom - CL $1500 / $0
Citi Platinum - CL $1500
Walmart store card CL - $1500 - $200
Amazon Store Card CL - $1200 - 400

Auto loan: $11000. 3 years left

11 inquiries in last 12 months, 2 of these in may & 4 in March of this year. Rest mixture of CC & Auto.
Current UTI is about 28% & debt to income is 6 %

I have one 30 day late from August 2010 on TU & EX. Not showing on EQ.
No other lates. No other baddies. NO collections.

Aaoa 1 yr. 1 month. Longest credit card 3.5 years.

Current Fico : TU 678 / EQ 698 EX ? Possible 689 (fako)

Question.
Should I apply Soon or after Christmas for a travel rewards card that I can put the flights on? Should I app to add another card for the purchase ? Or. Should I take HP on all my cards to get my limits up & stick with what I have?

I really don't want to max out my cards. However no one will give me any credit limit over $1500.

What should I do. ?

Can you GW the late? Even though its 2 years old I'm sure some creditors freak out when they see it. What's your income? Your best bet is to apply for a travel card if that's what you plan on doing. I'll let others chime in and recommendations on which ones.

Unfortunately none of your current creditors want to be the one to go first with a high limit. As far as asking for increases goes, if its been longer than 6 mos with discover I only see them matching your limit on freedom. Capital one isn't going to happen. Unknown with freedom maybe a small increase and Citi more than likely will fuss about that late.

I've sent letter after letter & called & called but they will not remove the late!

My current income is $40000 , more than when I originally applied for my cards.

Capitol one actually just bumped my limit from $750 to $1500

All my cards are past 6 months except Amazon & Walmart. They just passed the 4th.
Is Christmas too soon or should I wait till February? I plan on flying out in March.
