Re: What to do with BoA..?

I just paid off a large portion of my CC debt a couple days ago so hopefully my scores will jump into the 700s. 🤞

I’ve had the BoA CR card for a little over 5 years now as it was one of my first cards when I first started building credit.
I’m not exactly sure what program I was accepted to but I have had a $39 AF since day one.
At this point in my wallet, this card is very unappealing to me because of the low CL(2k) and the AF, however, it is one of my oldest cards.
I’ve called a CSR recently and they said they don’t have an PC offer for me and they also can’t waive the fee.
If anyone has had this problem with BoA before, what are some options I have to make this card more useful or even worth stashing in my drawer?

EDIT: I’ve never made any late payments or missed any payments. I also requested a CLI last month and they said something about I’m at the highest limit they’ll offer me on my card.

You probably have that same Mastercard from BOA that I had (same $39 AF). It's not true that you cant PC. Just call back or ask to talk to a supervisor. I ask to close mine and was told I could PC it to a Travel Rewards with has no AF/no FX fees. They wont waive the fee.

If you have another BOA card, ask to transfer all of the 2k CL over and close card in question.

This!

OP, BoA is very inconsistent with their PC policy, one CSR may tell you no and the next one may very well tell you yes.  It is frustrating but if you find the right CSR they are actually quite flexible.

I had to call 3 times trying to PC an old co-branded BoA card to the Cash Rewards card and after the first and second CSRs told me it was impossible the third CSR did it.

Just keep trying and good luck!

Re: What to do with BoA..?

Yup pretty much sums it up. I'm pissed that I wasted a 5/24 in apping for another BOA card when they could have just PC it...
