What to do with my cards?

Simple advise please! :-)
I'm about to close on a house so, I'm going to be able to come out of the Garden!!! I have the following cards and don't know what to do with them.
I know it's largely up to my personal opinion, however advice would be appreciated.

My credit profile: low 700s across the board, no derogatory marks, AAoA about 1.5 years.

(I know my siggy isn't updated)

Amex Platinum
Amex SPG- $18,000
Ritz- $5,000
CSP-$7,500
Freedom Unlimited- $4,400
Citi Prestige- $6,500
Citi AA Executive- $8,000
Merrill+ - $5,000
Capital One QuicksilverOne- $3,000

I honestly don't use many of the cards. I mainly use my Prestige and the CSP. I've used many of the sign-up bonuses on the rest and don't quite know what to do with them except use the Platinum and AA Executive for the lounge access; and the Ritz for the Marriot Gold status once in a while.

Any advice on which ones to Axe, which ones to try a CLI with, or even which cards to get in the future?

Eek, maybe starting to axe those would be ideal - generally only keep an AF card if your rewards/benefits are greater value than the fee. Otherwise it's kind of a waste of money. In order to maintain your limits while closing cards, maybe you could see if you could combine some limits? Like the Citi ones, or the Amex? Potentially the Cap1 QSOne could be PCd to a regular Quicksilver, with no fee, and they do SP CLI requests too. Also try to keep older cards if you can (although if they have a big AF, maybe not).

Congrats on closing on your house soon!! Then you can have a real garden of your own Smiley Happy

Yes, maybe get rid of some of the higher AF ones?  Seems a lot to pay every yr.  I know some are really great.  But maybe some others should go and get replaced with no AF cards?  I have much more than you and still don't pay no where near what you do in a yr.  Thanks a chunk of change.  Smiley Wink

Re: What to do with my cards?

I was thinking about axing the AMEX SPG and change it to an Everyday that has no AF.
And then maybe closing the Ritz. Doesn't seem like I use it really except the for Marriot Gold status. But in truth, I stay in Marriott hotels far more often than others.

Re: What to do with my cards?

Don't take this as rude but perhaps a learning tool but maybe next time you should get cards based on what your spend the most on. Realistically with reasonable spend $1-$4k a month you really only need about 3 or so. Granted if you use the benefits that outweigh AF then that's great or if you need a sign up bonus for a trip sure; but apping for good cards that don't meet your spend well then those cards aren't good for you.
