Thats quite a list...how many cards do you have total? Im wondering how closing 14 cards at once would affect your util.

If you wish to simply your life than by all means close some cards you don't plan on using. Will it significantly affect your utilization by doing so? If so you might try for CLI's on the cards you plan on keeping to help keep utilization in place.

I would be very wary of closing them because doing so will drive your utilization percentage up, and your average age of accounts down, both of which will have a negative impact on your FICO scores. Probably you're better off just letting them be, and trying to use them on occasion.

But if you'd really like to close them, I would start off with just one, and do one at a time.... and wait a month or two to see how closing each card impacts your scores before closing the next one.

Closing cards does not affect AAOA for ten years.  OP has enough regular cards to achieve 800+ in that time (supposing nothing bad happens).  I find my CU card kinda useless, but they are using it as sort of line of credit to back my business checks I cash.  Hence, if I don't want hold, I leave the card open.  Will be closing Cap One, Amazon Visa, and Maybe BCE (depends if get upgrade offer).  However, nothing is closed until April.  Why?  I might change mind, those added months past one year is better for reports, and who knows what is lurking in my future.  But I want other cards, and some just gotta go.

OP finds some cards useless.  By all means, close, and in future, have room to get other cards or cli's.
