Maybe I'm just frugal to the core but I'd much rather have 6 round trips to 1 first class trip if that is truly the conversion. In fact, this may be controversial but unless your company or someone else is paying for it or you have at least $1,000,000 in worth than you have no business in most first class flights like the ones >$8,000, it's just wreaks of poser. In my opinion, naturally.
I just bought a business class ticket from San Francisco to Vienna, Austria for about $1700 (Delta had a one weak fire sale....). This ticket would normally go for at least $4000. The flight takes about 14 hours. Flying economy would mean I would lose at least one day at the destination, because I would be too tired after such a long flight. Flying business means I can sleep on the plane and eat some reasonable food, then arrive at the destination rested and happy. I don't have $1m to my name and usually fly business for any flight longer than 5 hours. All my credit card spend goes into either UR or MR points and those points always turn into business class flights.
While 150K will not get you *two* business class flights to Europe, but it will get two one way flights (about 70-80K each). You can then fly coach on the way back.
If that's not ops cup of tea, then I'm having a difficult time understanding why he is collecting UR points in the first place. The value of UR points is in redeeming them for international business and first class flights and occasionally for staying at high end hotel properties like Park Hyatt.
Saving most of mine for vacations. And also get cards for dining out. Statement credit is also a good thing if you have no other plans for it.
For dining I usually use cards with 2x or the freedoms Q3 for 5x, are there any cards that give more than 2x?

Marvel MC has 3% cashback on dining and entertainment as statement credit
Costco Anywhere Visa has 3% on dining but is redeemed annually
Chase AARP 3% at restaurants but 2.000 point minimum redemption
