I thought this thread was about what limit you target when asking for CLIs
so I'll answer that question since I'm already here 😉
My 'target' limit for CLIs is as high as they are willing to go without wanting to pry into my finances.
lol, I thought that too for a second but then I realized Target was capitalized.

I've been told, at least in the past, that that's not true (not about your account in particular!) The claim was that there is some limit on their side (and they don't do a real-time check of your account, but that might be old) plus a lot of banks have a limit on debit card transactions. So it may be a little more fixed than you think!

I think @K-in-Boston is bit higher.
IIRC, max CL is $17,000That amost sounds like a Fico Forums challenge, but I'm gardening and won't take it up for now.
My Target MC has a limit of $10,500 currently.

You are prob right. I was more or less joking just to point out not every 'Target card' is a credit card. I don't think we've ever spent more than $200 during a Target trip. Although I have spent up to $500 online when they do the 10% off gift cards 1 - 2 timers per year.

DW's Target Red MC has a $12.5k CL. No auto increases ever and she never requested a CLI. She was assigned that as a SL in 2006. So far it has been sufficient for groceries, personal care products and household supplies although prices have more than doubled.
* Current monthly spend on card $500 - $1000.
Last July they increased my CL from $300 to $1,000 after 5 years of having the card. Nothing since.
I opened my RedCard in 2013. It slowly increased from $1000 to $2300 in 2015.
It's sat that way for a decade even with constant use. Still makes no sense not to be able to request a CLI.
I closed mine in the middle of last year after it sat at $300 for 5+ years. I actively used it and updated income, etc the whole time. All of my other cards, even bucketed Capital One cards, had grown *at least a little* during that time. Target never budged.
I had gotten it early on in my rebuild and it served it's purpose, but between being a store card and only having a $300 limit it had become less than worthless to me.
Applied for red card in 2013, dont remember if it had a limit. They convereted it to the MC version a few years later at $15K and hasn't moved sinvce.
