When did Cap One stop sending out BT checks?

I haven’t done a BT since ‘17 with C1. In the past, after an offer appeared on my account I would get blank checks shortly after. I noticed a 0% BT offer a few weeks ago, and assumed I would get blank checks. Nope. I just got off the phone with them. They said they no longer send the blank checks, but you can request a certain amount, and they will send a no hassle check made out to you for that amount to be deposited into your bank account. When did this start? And do they definitely work the same way as the blank checks?

I have no idea, I haven’t even had BT offers on my card in about a year now. They used to send me those checks all the time and I never knew you could deposit them in your account at the promo rate so I missed out.

I'm not sure if the representative was not as informed entirely on whether such practice has ended or not. I have received some BT checks as of last month. However, these are auto-generated as opposed requesting a "blank" set of them.

Potentially they may be phasing them out?
Who knows. I suppose we'll see down the road, yet the other options exist online such as the "no hassle check", for example.

I got a message back in the fall that the checks they automatically sent were going to be phased out, but IIRC I got another couple of checks after that, so I don't know what the time frame is.

As long as they still have the option to request a check at the promo rate it's almost as good to me.  The times in the past when I've used one of their checks was always planned out in advance, so having to wait a few days for a check to be mailed isn't a big deal.

While I'm fond of Cap One BT offers and make use of them from time to time I'm glad they stopped sending out blank checks. We've had mail theft in the area but I've been lucky, but when I get them I have to shred them instead of just throwing them in trash.

Now if Disco & BoA would stop sending me random blank BT checks . . . .

I've wondered lately why I haven't seen any. 🤔You guys answered my question. Thanks!
I haven't seen a BT offer from Capital one in well over a year.

Re: When did Cap One stop sending out BT checks?

I haven't received any of their BT promo checks in a couple of years but I do always have the option to have a "no hassle" check sent in my name.  I'm currently sitting on a 0% (3% fee) 18 month offer from them on my Savor card.

What's interesting, speaking of BT checks, is yesterday I received in the mail checks from PenFed.  Never in my time with them have they ever sent BT checks so was very shocked when I opened the mail and saw them.  When I get mail from PenFed it's typically some kind of life insurance they're peddling to members.  I wonder if this is something new for them or maybe this was just the first time I was targeted.

It's nothing special than you can get just about everyday with them...standard 12 month 0% with a 3% fee; just thought it was interesting that it was an actual check versus the promo that is typically listed on the bottom of their statements.

When logged into your Cap One account click "More Account Services". If you have an offer it's down toward the bottom left. Click that and you can enter the account # you want to transfer or have a check sent to you to deposit in your bank account.

No offers.

I guess Cap really doesn’t want my business. No BT offers, no WMC upgrade (it’s not even a full QS, it just earns cash back), and that interest is 4% lower than what it actually is because my 7 month promo hasn’t expired yet.
