Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

I think it said $79 but I am not sure. I didnt ask the CSR. I definately hope its not $79. That is a lot of money. But again this is only my second CC. and I dont think I qualify for anything else.

Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

79.00 is a lot but it may not be that much.  When I was approved for the HSBC card I didn't have to pay a processing fee but the AF was 59.00.  I canceled it.  I have the Direct Rewards HSBC Discover and the AF is 19.00.  I am trying to get away from cards that have an AF.  I only have 3 so far.  FP which I tried to close but they gave me a 45.00 credit to stay.  Cap 1 29.00.

Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

I don't know.  I was shocked when I got a approved with Cap 1 because they pull all 3 bureaus.  I was approved for 500.00 with a 29.00 AF.  My BF on the other hand who has about 560 across the board was not approved.  He has a BK which is due to fall off in 7/09.  All you can do is try and see if you are willing to take the hits for all 3 bureaus.

Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

I don't remember exactly how long it took to get my card because it has been since 2005 but the good news is that I moved up from the $300 CL to $700 at my first CLI. The $59 AF STINKS!!! But they do start warning you about 2 statements ahead of time that they are going to charge you. Thats really good if you have to be close to your CL. I usually don't go over $300 though I just let it stick in my head that $300 was the limit, even though its higher now.

Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

I didn't get one until my 2nd year because I accidently went over my limit once during the first year. But they happen yearly on your anniversary date and are generally $200 @ a time. Or at least that have been for me and I have had "fair" credit for the 3 years that I have had the card.

I've never tried calling and asking for one. I might try it for giggles tommorow and see what happens.

I just hate talking to customer service because of the 5 minute sales pitch in the middle of the call while they "update their screen"

Re: When did u receive your HSBC card?

I don't have the HSBC card because the AF was too high.  I have the Direct Rewards HSBC Discover.  AF is 19.00 but still low CL of 300.00.
