Hey there. I've done lots of changes with my relatinship with Chase this year and one of the first ones was product-changing the Freedom Unilimited to a Freedom back in April as I'd already plowed through my 3x on everything SUB. The grocery store category has been a boon this quarter for obvious reasons. When does Chase typically announce the following quarter? We're entering the second week of June and I was just wondering what the typical time frame was. Thanks!
Usually about two weeks prior to the start of new quarter.
While don't know the answer to this, someone will be along to anwer it. I really just had to comment on your cool looking Beer Visa!
I had never seen a CC with a beer theme.
LOL, you're not the first in here to comment on that. I relocated to Olympia, WA after having lived in Portland for 20 years. Right after I bought my house up here, my car decided to die (I'd had my car for 15+ years). I bought a new car and really wanted to finance through my existing credit union, but their rates weren't competive at that time. There is a local credit union here called OBEE which is short for "O.B." or Olympia Brewery. It is a credit union that was originally established for their employees many years back but now is just a thriving local c.u. They fi8nanced my auto loan and then auto-approved me for one of my very first REAL credit cards. I've kept it ever since. I was born here but raised in Colorado and would come here in the summer to see my father who still lives here. I used to tour the brewery with my dad as a kid (don't worry, I wasn't drinking) so I have fond memories of the Brewery (it's closed now unf.). Anyway, Obee's cards are all modeled after the beers that they used to make. There is a Pabst card, an Olympia beer card, a Rainier beer card and there was a Schlitz card but there was some issue with the copyright so they discontinued it.
Chase announced Q1 2020 on Dec 12, 2019 and Q2 2020 on Mar 14, 2020, so we're still a week away from the Q3 2020 announcement.
Knowing Chase, it will be Gas, Baby Wipes, Auto Parts
Or anything else that I have no use for, because that's the story of Freedom and me.

😂 I have the same issue with Discover. Discover likes to do 5% back at stores that I already have a 5% card for (Amazon, Target, and wholesale clubs being the usual suspects).

A Pabst card??? I gotta find a way into this CU!
I've been wondering when Freedom was going to show the new categories as well. As of yesterday when I signed in, there was nothing new. I know Chase seems to wait until the last minute to break the news, but why the secrecy? Are they thinking there's some last minute spending trend that they might be able to jump on?
Discover puts it out in the open from the beginning of each year.
