@Shellie wrote:When emailing a CEO to ask for a CLI What all should you put in the email? Any suggestions welcome!
Also, all of you who have done this, were you carrying a balance on your card at the time? What was your score? Were you successful?
Thanks so much, everyone here is so helpful. It really is amazing.
I try to keep it short, but let them know why I am asking for the CLI from them (as opposed to asking for one the regular method) and why I believe my request should be honored. My main focus is not to be short, it is to provide all information I believe is pertinent to the request. I did this with Cap1 and am waiting on Citi to make a decision....I got most of what I asked for from Cap1, but not sure about Citi as there haven't been any acct changes yet.
How long had you had your cards and what were you utl % when you tried this?
Also score?

I've had my Citi cards for about 1.5 years. My scores are probably high 600's and have always been less than 700 as far as I know. I should have waited because I paid off almost all my debt, but it hasn't reported. I'm way too impatient lol. I just had a 30 day late removed as well, but not sure if it was off when they pulled my report. Citi's problem with me is a collection acct that is reporting. 1 CRA removed it, 1 left it, and the verdict isn't in on the last CRA. Their EO is moving slow for me. I dealt with Chase's EO regarding something else and they were super fast.
I had my oldest cap1 card since 2004, but since the love button worked on it, I didn't ask for more. I'll wait till my reports look better to ask again.
Oh and utilization before paying down was between 10-17% of my total credit limits, depending upon when they pulled the report. One of my cards reported a huge balance a few days before I PIF'd, but was reporting $0 prior to that.. I haven't had a problem being denied for utilization in awhile even though 3 cards were nearly maxed....I have a thick file though, or at least I feel like I do.
Thanks guys. I just read on here about calling some denials in right away to recon, or calling on the 61st day for a CLI on "this" card. I just wondered if I were missing out on some options.
