With all the discover love floating around, I applied for my first card. It's now in hand. How long should I wait to hit the CLI button? I know every creditor is different. I was able to get a CLI with capital one after 2 months, my synchrony cards however have given me no love after 4 months.

The first danger I can see in your post is you are basically assuming that Discover is just being generous and giving out CLIs. While they have loosened up a bit, it does not mean you are guaranteed easy CLIs or anything like that.
I would use it for 6 months heavily and responsbily and go from there. They want to see history.
Congratulations on the Discover card. It is a great card and good CS. Like it was said, use it responsibly for a few months before CLI attempts. Most likely you will not get any for at least the first 3 months. Show them you're responsible with the card first.
