When should I apply for another Amex?

I want to apply for one of the CC that offer cash back. I got the green in March. I know you can't request a CLI with them for 60 days, is it like that too with applying for an additional credit account? Thanks in advance, Monica

No... What was your score from Amex when they approved the Green?

I would go ahead and apply if you had upper 600's and history is clean.

I think I was low 700s high 600 when I applied. I'm in the 700 teens for eq and 700 for ex. I have a balance on my green, should I pay that off first?

I wouldn't worry about it... but maybe if it gets you to 6 months...

I'm interested in thoughts on this topic as well. I applied for and was approved for a BCP in March with a $2K credit limit and a PRG card as well. Today was my 60 days on the BCP and using the advice on this board, I applied and was approved for 3x CLI of $6K. When the Starwood Amex offers the 30k introductory offer, I'd like to get that card as well but don't want to jump the gun. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Got plat in 11/11, bcp in 3/12, trueearnings in 5/12. Was told they don't like frequent apps, but ymmv. Worst case ou get denied. Big deal, just a sp. actually one worse scenario is that it causes you to get Amex f/r. My guess is that multiple apps reduces whatever internal scoring they use. So if you are borderline, it will deny you. If strong credit profile, it will be accepted. No hard rules stopping you from applying the next day. Until ou get denied, then hard rule of 1 month before ou can apply again
