I have a Amex green coming up on Month 3. Should I wait 6 months to app via online account in order to increase my chances?
Also, do they look for anything specific? Low utilization? Less Inquiries?
Will some baddies from 6+ years ago haunt me? They are set to fall off 6 and 7/2014 and a collections set to fall of 5/2007
Any replies appreciated thanks!
I apologize if there is already a thread for this.

Wait until the 6 months have passed, on the plus side that will be right around January and the best month to app for an AMEX is january!
Would do it in JAN for max. backdating
You've nothing to lose since it's only a HP if you're approved. But as others have said the benefit of waiting until Jan is you'll gain 11 months of backdating, so it wil be dated 1/13, instead of 11/13 as opening date. Not huge, but it is something. Don't know if the additional 3 mos makes a difference for approval w/them. I got Zync and Costco on the same day. It really comes down to your credit. Amex likes low util and very few inq.

Impossible to say. 3 months may not be enough time for one person and it may not matter for the next. Credit varies by person. Both of my AmEx cards were approved within 3 months of each other but that doesn't necessarily mean anything with regard to you unless your credit happens to be similar to mine.
What we can tell you has been mentioned above: HP if approved, SP if denied, maximum backdating if you apply in January.

Like all other creditors they look at everything. Low utilization, less inquiries, etc always help.

scores I havent pulled but range from 650-700. 660 EQ from Cap1 last I checked. That has 6 INQ's. AAoA definitely under one year. my Cap1 is 2.5, Chase Amazon 1.25, the rest 3-4 months old.

Have you checked if you have a match on creditcards.com using their cardmatch?
