When to ask Chase for a CLI

I've had my Freedom card for over a year now.  Scores have fluctuated wildly with Utilization since I've had scores but I think it's time to try to get my limit raised by Chase.  I'm at an EX 646 right now and CCT says I will be at a 696 after Cap One reports the statement that just posted.  Should I ask as soon as that happens, wait until my Citi reports a lower UTIL mid month or until my new Amex reports?

I've never asked for an increase on this account.  I had no score when I was approved for it and the only thing on my credit history at that time was a Chase Auto loan that has since dropped off my report.

Absolutely clean file other than Utilization, I know it's going to be a HP, but I'm done apping for things except maybe a Discover and a card from my CU.

Re: When to ask Chase for a CLI

Well since you know itll be hp and are willing, id suggest just waiting abit to you have your report in optimal position. If you believe your report will look better in a month, then just wait it out and go for itSmiley Happy. Good luckSmiley Happy

Re: When to ask Chase for a CLI

It's been posted numerous times before that the best method to increase limits with Chase is through opening a new card and transferring the limits over to the card selected you like to see increased.

With Chase there's been tons of posts over the years and recently where a HP only yields a mere $500 if any at all when the FICO score is low, however often times a "new" card "might" provide a better SL compared to the CLI.

It's a matter of weighing all the factors that you can compare to from other's experience with similar profiles.
