I personally don't think there will be a problem, but I would definitely contact them first.
Chase has a long memory and is rather aggressive about blacklisting. It may be too soon. Doesn't mean it's impossible, just less likely than say, Cap One.

I used to have an old wamu platinum MasterCard in about 2007 or so that I had burned them on, financial difficulties and whatnot played into this. But nevertheless, the CO was always listed as Chase until it fell off my TU report last year. Will this keep me from getting a card from next year when I plan to try? Or should I try to contact them?
If you are trying to get a card from chase then you may have a hard time. They seem to blacklist even when they take over from other banks.

Isn't contacting them risky? Getting them to make a note when it might not have been a problem anyway?

This was my immediate thought.
I had a Chase Card and a Providian Credit card, and back in 2007 everything fell apart for me. All my cards went into collections. Last year I applied for a Chase Freedom, and got my hightest CL approval for 11k. BTW, I was approved exactly 1 year and 1 day ago (March 3, 2014) The Chase advisor I talked to before I applied said he WAS NOT concerned about my Providian and Chase accounts that went into collections that long ago (he even said Providian was another company that he didn't care about.. Just to let you know Providian was bought out by WAMU. Providian collection was about 7.5k and my Chase at the time was about a 400.00 collection. Your results may vary. They pulled TU and my score at the time was 781. Good Luck. If I were you I would go to Chase.com to see if you are pre approved. That's what the advisor made me do. I could see there that I was pre approved for Freedom and CSP. I chose Freedom for the NO Annual fee. Also at the time all my credit reports are spotless with no derogs except for Experian with an old 45.00 parking ticket.

Right. Pre-approval it is for me! And, a goal of mine to have scores like yours!
It's a safe and easy way to see if you will likely get approved.....pre approval on Chase works with no hard pull.....keep us updated.....If I can do it, you can do it.....
