Anyhow, we're trimming down the cards a bit since there are some that will just never get used again. My husband called to close the Sears card and it was completely automated. He kept saying "Close my account" and the automated system kept repeating back "Please don't close my account? if this is incorrect, please try again". "NO, please CLOSE my account."
It only took three attempts for the computer to understand. Apparently it's now closed with no human interaction necessary.. lol
Thought I would share for those who wonder if they may get better interest by threatening to close, nah, you won't even get a person.
No pleat clothes count? Why not?
LOL
Looks like the original starter card has finally stooped to a new low. I remember back in the day when my grandfather brought me to Sears (I think it was still called Sears & Roebuck) to apply for my first credit card. He taught me all about credit and how it was more important than money. Then I walked in to the electronics department with my newfound wealth and it was all downhill from there ![]()
i applied for a Sears Store card yesterday and i was Declined, i called today to Recon, Spoke to a lady there and it was still Declined, Sears has NO love for your boy lol ![]()
I'm pretty sure Sears is going to be filing for BK in the near future. Their stock has lost about 50% of it's value and is basically being used as a short hedge. Actually IIRC Sears is owned by a hedgefund manager, lol.
