Re: Where to go?

If you have less than 3 inq's try for Nordstrom card. Even if they approve the store card you can ask for the visa upgrade in 6 months.

Capital one or Best Buy MC, but you are probably not going to get limits much higher than $300 since that's what you currently have

Re: Where to go?

I have previously applied for a BB card which was declined. I did just get off the phone with someone who was able to provide some insight. They told me that my short record and previously high utility (55%) were to blame for the most part. His solution was to reapply when I told him that my utility had dropped, but Im not sure I want another pull for what will most likely be a $500 limit anyways...

Did you apply for the Best Buy Card or the Best Buy Mastercard? HUGE difference, the Mastercard is VERY easy to get and being issued to basically anyone who applies right now, the store card is much harder to get but offers better terms for purchasing things at Best Buy.  If you need a higher CL, you might want to try a local credit union because right now you only show a $300 CL, so most banks are not all of a sudden going to issue you a 2k limit on a thin file

Re: Where to go?

Yes, it was the in-store card. I didn't realize there were two different cards, however I'm not intrested in the reward zone card as its excluded from the zero percent promos that Best Buy does on its big ticket items (Im looking to get a TV). What about some of the Barclays cards? Spirit Airlines, AirTran or Choice Privledges?

Re: Where to go?

Barclays can be easier sometimes, they pull TU. and you can call in and talk to there underwriting if not approved or for not enough and sometimes get them to go higher
