I need some help/opinion on what I should do. I just got two new cards, Wells Fargo Propel and SPG Amex. Both have 90 day, 3K spend requirements for the SUB. The WF is 30K points and the SPG is 75K points.
My typical spending habits don't necessarily support doing both in such a short time. I had just received the Propel when I realized that the SPG was ending soon, so I apped before it was too late.
So my question is this:
If you were in my position and had to choose one or the other to complete first, which would it be?
Any input is greatly appreciated!
Which currency are you going to get the most value from once you complete the SUB? The WF Propel points have a fixed value so are easier to redeem but Marriott points you get from the SPG card will carry you farther if you have some travel redemptions in mind.
Congrats on the new cards! Exciting to see more credit being put in you're hands! Two great cards as well. That Propel card is really fancy as well!
The issue is that you should have waited UNLESS you know you can hit the spend requirements. I am dealign with this at CITI as I just opened a new American Airlines card, and it comes with a $2500 spend.
While many do not hit this you at least wanna hit one. Why not do the card that values the most to you? SPG gives you valuble points on traveling at Marriot Hotels while the PROPEL card gives you AMEX Points. PROPEL is good even after the cards introductory offer expires. I would personally in my opinion just do the SPG.
I have the Hilton Card, and I loved being able to stay for free at the hotels that they offer.
Hope this helps!

If you can, put all of your expenses in either card and see if you can hit the minimum needed to attain the SUB. Depending on what your monthly spend is, if it is around 1-2K a month, you can still technically get both SUBs. If you can, maybe pre-pay some bills. as @simplynoir stated, it depends which card works for you better. What is your average monthly spend?
Edit - another option you have is possibly purchasing a gift card which you can use yourself. I.E. Amazon gift cards. You can always load them to your Amazon account and purchase away.

Insurances and some utilities allow this if this is the route you want to go on. May have to contact them to see for sure before doing it.
I agree with above posters. Get both of the sub's. Amazon cards, grocery store gc's, stores you frequent, and my favorite is to pay utilities or insurance in advance. My logic is I have to pay those anyways why not get them out of the way and pick up whatever bonus I am chasing!
Good luck!
This is why I strategize CC apps to correspond to rebilling of Auto Insurance etc. Or major purchases like an appliance. This usually takes a big chunk out of them. But heh best thing to do is use them both for everything you can during that spend, like groceries and any other everyday expense you normally pay. STOP using debit cards, and put those amounts on the CCs in question until spend is met.
Amex is tougher to use than MC or Visa when it comes to Rent or other billpay options though. So having two Amex spends at the same time increases ones difficulties for non big spenders.
You can also pay your taxes with a credit card. The fee would easily be outweighed by the SUB

What does that mean? Propel doesn't give MR points. Aren't these more "Wells Fargo" points shared by some of their other cards, such as the Visa Sig
