Which cards to apply for Equifax?

I reside in NYC, am currently cleaning up my credit (removed some unverifiables, paid off others, added/ing AUs)...

If I want to rebuild with credit-cards, and my Equifax is head and shoulders above TU and EX, which cards would people recommend to apply for?

Also, how are secured cards/bank-loans viewed/scored and what is the best way to go about getting them?

Re: Which cards to apply for Equifax?

Credit unions seem to favor Equifax.

Re: Which cards to apply for Equifax?

Thanks! So CC's usually pull just one agency and that is dependent on the city being applied in/for? My Ex/TU are not great yet, and I'd hate to have those tank my application...

Chase pulls EQ for me
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Which cards to apply for Equifax?

cap 1 pulled all three on me.... not sure if it is city/state dependent - I know I have 12 INQs on EQ from Citi and it's other cards....(HD, Exxon, Citgo, etc)

Wassup fellow NYer, lol i'm also in NYC. Consider going with JFCU, or Penfed both pull strictly EQ here in NYC. As for citi, they pull TU here.

JFCU by far best CSR I've ever encountered. GLSmiley Happy

What are the scores if I may ask?

Re: Which cards to apply for Equifax?

I didn't even know you could apply for credit-cards from Unions, go figure.

I'm embarrassed to post current scores, it has been a reallllly bad early-mid decade, but am almost done with cleaning and such. Started at;

500/525/627

Within 45 days when the dispute removals, paids, and AUs hit I'm hoping to get to
600/625/720

but that may be very wishful thinking.

In any event, establishing some credit this year is critical. I'll look into those two (and Citibank) when I get my early year scores.

Thanks all.
