I just got approved for a credit line increase with my bank bb&t they raised my card from $7,000 to $10,000
instantly.
I'm looking to get a high limit card with ATLEAST a $20,000 limit.
Any ideas on where i should go?
Without having to provide financials? I'm not rich and i don't make a ton of money. I just want a card with a high limit. I will be traveling tons from this point forward. but i want a card thats great for traveling as well as everyday spending (If i have to) also emergencies.
Let me know your thoughts, thanks!
Your income will have a lot to do with your limit also your history with lender, but chase shows the minimum limit on all their cards in the terms, the United plus club card has a 15k min starting line and a few others at 10k gonna pay a nice annual fee with most of those though
For initial limits I have done well with Chase cards and Capital One Venture. I believe the Venture was my highest initial limit at 30k while I have had some Chase cards in the 25k range. Amex had a little smaller initial limit in the low 20's, but was able to increase it at 61 days to almost double that without doing a 4506t.
I think the Chase Sapphire Preferred is quite commonly recommended for those that want a travel card with a high SL. From what I've read, the Venture is not a "real" travel card.

But it earns you miles!
This is personally one of my pet peeves is how this is advertised as a double miles card when it clearly is not. I did include it though as it is somewhat regarded to as a "travel" card.
Yeah it's marketed well and all over the commercials with the attractive Jennifer Garner asking what's in your wallet, but when you actually read about the rewards from what I understand it falls pretty flat for a "travel" card.
I recommend checking out American Express charge cards (the Platinum or PRG) because they technically have no limits since they are charge cards (even though most do have a limit of $35K if your scores/income/profile support it). If you are a pay in full type of credit card owner, this type of card would be right up your alley. There is an annual fee so you'll have to decide if it's worth it to you.
Good luck with whatever you choose!
