Which one should I apply for first

Hey guys, I wanna choose between the Amex Platinum and Hilton Aspire, because I wanna avail the airline incidental credit twice, and I can make good use of the other credits (Hilton $100 property, Uber, Saks). I'd app for both together but I've already gotten the PRG and 3 Amex revolvers this year with a short credit history so I'd rather not freak them out.

Do you guys think one of these is more likely to get nerfed soon? If not, any rationale would really helpful. Cheers

PS: I don't really need any MR's soon, I'm squatting on a **bleep**load of MR's and Skymiles. Also gonna avail the 5x airline booking anytime soon.

If you applied for the Hilton, it looks certain that you'd end up with a $500 or $1000 limit.  If you're in no rush for the Platinum, which you would likely be approved for, I'd hold out for a 100,000 MR bonus.  I don't see either of those cards being nerfed; in fact, Platinum keeps getting more value added to it.

I disagree with K on this point. I dont think you would be approved. In fact, you stand a chance of triggering n AR.  You have a thin file and have already opened 4 accounts in less then a year.  Plus it sounds like you are churning MR and Skymiles and another couple of apps might be disastrous.

Good luck

Re: Which one should I apply for first

don't disagree with @Meanmchine on the revolver, at least.  I should have stated that as if you're approved it would be $500 or $1000.

On the Platinum card, the bar is so low on that one that I do think an approval is more likely than a denial, but it certainly does open up suspicion for "too much too soon," and with Amex cracking down on churning, it's also very likely that you may be met with the "you are not eligible for the welcome bonus, do you still want to continue" message.

Re: Which one should I apply for first

I figured that by actually paying the $450/$550 AF, they would be less likely to crack down on the bonuses. Looks like I'll wait at least a few months before apping again
