I think it's time to call a spade a spade, here.
The questions that you've asked in this thread, while entirely legitimate, demonstrate that you're not really the target market for the Palladium, despite your net worth.
I suggest that you'll be entirely happy with the Sapphire Preferred and that the extra $500 in annual fee for the Palladium is a waste. You simply won't use the features of the card that make it (questionably) worth more than the CSP.
Yep, as you can see, we don't do a lot of fancy travel. F or J... I thought those were aisle seats... lol!
As embarassed as I am for asking, I'm glad I did so I could learn.
We make a very very good living - but we're not used to the true fancies of life just yet. We're only 30.

We make a very good living (near half mil a year) - but we're not used to the true fancies of life just yet. We're only 30.
You have plenty of time to figure some of these things out, including what you like and don't like, what you value and don't value. My father always would tell people "you're not there yet", and I always wondered as a child what exactly he meant. In your case though it sounds like you're well on your way. With that in mind, I'd suggest considering the palladium again in the next few years and see if it matches your new spending patterns. Just because it doesn't work for you now doesn't mean it won't work for you in the future.
As people's incomes rise, most have a corresponding increase in spending (although the correlation is never perfect). As someone who "grew up fancy", I can honestly say that some things are truly worth the cost even if you may scoff at it as an initial reaction, while other things that may seem great are simply a waste of both time and money. You have plenty of time to figure out which is which, given your own values and priorities. For people with money, the palladium card (or something similar) will always be available since there will always be people (and companies) who will want a piece of what you've got.

Good on ya, then. Start with the CSP and get your feet wet. See if it's your thing before diving in.

No one is on 100% of the time.
As a final thought for this thread and the kid's "OMG Barclays!" thread, I'll drop this in here and say goodnight:
By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. - Confucius
