In the spirit of growing my current cards before opening more, I intend to request CLI's (Despite the *gulp* HP) from BofA and Chase. I know BofA will very likely HP TU. I'm ok with that. Is Chase consistant in who they pull for a CLI? Thanks!
I would definitely advise waiting on both -- the BOA was just opened last month and the Chase is less than a year old with a recent auto CLI. You don't want to burn HPs for no reason. With a $900 approval on BOA, it's clear they want to see some history and usage and are unlikely to grant further credit so soon. I would give it at least 6 months.
For Chase, the bureau pulled for CLI can vary by location but seems to often be EX or TU. That said, I'm not sure I would chance it yet with the account being fairly new and already having an auto CLI. Chase isn't known for generous CLIs and again, you just don't want to burn pulls. For the Chase card I would suggest you wait until the new year or so, when the account will be roughly a year old, and you will have better luck IMO.
Good luck whatever you decide. It is annoying to wait these things out but sometimes being patient is best instead of rushing into HPs.

Sorry, forgot to specify that I'm planning for 2018... I plan to wait for my 2016 summer of denials to fall off my CR's. BofA and Chase were both Ex single-pulls initially for me.

Chase has always pulled Experian for me.
Don't let the HP scare you. I hear people say to just get a new card instead and move the limit over, but a HP barely hurts (if at all) and only for a bit while a new account brings down AAoA and doesn't go away for a long time.

I have never been declined a CLI at Chase (I ask for $10,000 at a time). I have also asked for a CLI on a Chase card less than 6 months after opening it. My profile is pretty flawed so they can't be that hard to get from them. The OP's scores are higher than mine were when I last asked for a CLI.

My biggest issue is my income. I'm a full-time student, so my work doesn't bring in much right now.

I was denied a CLI on my 10 year-old Chase Freedom on New Years Eve. Even went the recon route with the analyst that was like an FBI interrogation. Minutes later I was approved on their website for a CSP with a $12k starting line. LOL DW did have success with her card, though. Called and asked for $25,000 and they countered with $19,400 (a doubling of $9,700). (For clarity, I also did the interrogation with their analyst to get the last $500 from my old Slate card moved to my Freedom in early 2016. After the fact, I realized they treated it as a $500 CLI request and got a HP!)
GrasshopperStudent, if you're planning on waiting until 2018 I think you'll be in good shape. For new apps, Chase has double-pulled EX/TU for me. For CLI requests, they've been EX. BOA as you stated will almost certainly be a TU hard pull (go big or go home on that request, don't worry about things like 3x), unless they have recently pulled your report from another bureau for another reason.
