Re: Who reports AU accounts?

I added my boyfriend to my Walmart card as an AU and it shows up on his CR, no ssn needed.

Re: Who reports AU accounts?

Normal-
It is my understanding this has more to do with selling services to the AU than anything else.

I'm an AU on my mother's AMEX.  Not only is this a TL on my EX and TU reports, but they just did a soft INQ "AMEX ACCOUNT REVIEW" on my Experian...

I didn't know they do account reviews on AUs, too.

I wonder if I'll have to send info when they do a FR.

Re: Who reports AU accounts?

HTSU,

It is a "normal" Discover card. I will try calling back. I have been AU since November and haven't seen it reported yet. I don't understand how they could report it without my SSN.

Re: Who reports AU accounts?

hey chedder, i had my dad put me on his washington mutual card. 11000 cl. 8 years history. but when i called dad later that week he said washington didnt need my ssn, i thought that was weird. so i called washington , ( i guess washington, and wamu, are the same by the way) and asked about the au thing. was told they wouldnt put my dads info on my report, so i tried as and joint account, was told they dont do that anymore. so the old man put me on his citi card, 20,000 cl 11 years history, balance about 1,000. it should help. question, the old man has another card he wants to put me on, but its only 300.00 cl, with 8 years history, chase, he uses it for online only, he is old school. if that is added to my report, would that hurt my credit with the 300 cl? 8 years of history is a plus? thanks, you guys kick ass on here,

I wish I could figure how they knew how to report me. DH called and put me on the card, and he says they didn't ask him for my SSN, and I know that he couldn't remember it if you put a gun to his head, lol. Great --my demographics are posted on the bathroom walls at Discover! Smiley Surprised

I was thinking that they found me because SO and I have the same address.

The most likely explanation!

And BTW, a simple partial solution to the problem of how to tell which AU's are legitimate, as opposed to those who called an 800 number.
