My bofa card is at 40k started at 5k
my csp is at 43.5k started at 5k
my freedom is at 33.5k started at 3k
all 3 cards about 2 years old....
Agreed, as always YMMV. For many love Citi and I have had zero luck with them.
For me and Chase:
11/2014 Marriott Premier Rewards - SL $5,000
12/2014 Ritz Visa - SL $8,000
Ran quite a bit through these cards and then appd CSP:
4/2015 - CSP SL $16,700
Today I login and see an auto CLI on my Ritz card from $8,000 to $11,800.
I don't know why there is a hate on Chase thread but here's my reasons why I use and love Chase.
1. Ultimate rewards - with an Ink Plus or Sapphire Preferred card you get access to the one of (if not) the best mileage programs there is. With so many transfer partners and miles that are routinely valued at over $0.02 each this means you are regularly earning between 2-10% on all purchases on their credit cards.
2. Bonus offers on credit cards - I've received 60,000 bonus points from my Ink Bold card I app'd for last year, 30,000 bonus points from my Freedom card, and was just approved for an Ink Plus that I plan on getting 60,000 bonus points (about to cancel Ink Bold since the product is going away anyway). That's 150,000 bonus points, which again if we value those at $0.02 a piece is $3,000 in bonuses - not counting the actual points I earned in the last year.
3. Bonus on checking and savings accounts - I've received over $300 in bonuses just from opening a checking and savings account with them in the last year.
4. Free checks and safety deposit box - for keeping a minimum balance in my checking account.
5. Lots of branches - it seems in Texas there is almost a branch in every town, and in larger towns there are branches on almost every corner.
6. Customer service - my local branch has some of the best customer service I've ever had. They all know my name, they greet me when I walk in, and try to help me as soon as possible.
7. Technology - I can deposit up to $25,000 in checks via my cell phone in a 30 day period - and if I go over that (which I don't think I will) I can easily deposit cash or checks at an ATM at any time of the day. I also like being able to manage all my accounts - personal credit card, business credit card, checking, savings, and auto loan all in one web portal.
The only drawback I've found to Chase is that their interest rates are horrible on both their checking and savings accounts.
I have removed all the offensive remarks from this thread. I also removed some remarks that were fine and supportive, but wouldn't have made sense without the offensive remarks there. Everyone needs to remember to be Friendly, Supportive, and Respectful. I just spent twenty minutes on this that I could have spent doing something more productive, like watching cat videos. Please make sure that your post won't be offensive to someone before you post it. Thanks.

Thank you NewGuy! I'm really sorry that you missed that cat video! Lol!
Meh. As we all know, there's plenty more where that come from.
Chase was never on my radar until this last fall. Maybe it were those commercials I saw everywhere, maybe it was my love for travel. But once I joined myfico forums and found out the true benefits of doing business with them I was all in I actually applied for the Freedom last August and was denied outright, but that was before I had any idea of where my credit was and how to improve it. Once I learned the way and improved my credit above 700 I decided to go for BOA AK Air Siggy (approved), then AMEX ED (approved) and finally on the 3rd day of the spree jumped head first into CSP. Instant approval for $18k. I've never thought I could have enough credit to buy a brand new Honda Civic haha. Chase poured water through the floodgates for me and they are very easy to work with. I'll always be grateful
Chase gets me.
No really, they have great starting limits, and I feel that over time, they will grow with me.
BofA, for me, has not been generous in CL. They feel I'm not worth more than a $500/$99 secured card which is unacceptable at this point. For this reason, they don't scale well for me. I have not had a BofA CC for a year or so though.
And by the way, I think that Chase has excellent C/S. BofA can be extremely arrogant in my experience.
@skorpyo3 wrote:The EO told me that I was aggressively looking for credit and to wait a while before reapplying. I've had 5 inquiries in the past year. Most were Cap1 and 2 were Barclays. I tried to explain the inquiries and how I've re-established, but they still wanted more time.
Just for your notes, when I was approved I had one inquiry on EX and no accounts under 6 months old. You will get it next time, it's a great card so don't hold the grudge too long haha!
BoA is my first bank and I have 2 cards + checking, savings, IRA, and investment with them. Their reward structure is favorable for my purposes (50% bonus due to preferred rewards), but I am getting annoyed by their customer service.
1. When I PCd my Cash Rewards to Travel Rewards, I had to fight for my points earned, then had to fight again for the preferred rewards bonus. Took 3-5 calls to sort everything out.
2. The Better Balance Rewards card. Everyone I had spoken to for Q1 said that paying on time in full for balances less than $25 qualifies me for the quarterly bonus. Come bonus time, I had to call in and be fight for my $30 bonus. After 1 call and 1 chat, I finally had a credit... into my statement instead of the account I had specified... the day before my statement closed. One more call to get that taken care of. Now when Q2 bonus comes along, I'm going to have to call in and fight for my rewards again.
Aside from all that, I've had good experiences with BoA. I think it really depends on who you talk to, every big business is going to have it's good and bad reps and have its quirks. I'm new to Chase, and I've had great experiences so far. I'm sure in the future, I'll have some issues with them, as I would with any other bank.
The last time i counted, Chase offered sign-up bonuses on 14 of their cards. That's certainly one answer.
