I just started my credit profile last year and have added 4 personal cards and 3 AU cards since then. I have a decent credit score of around 700, with about 21k total credit + AMEX Gold (61k credit including AU cards).
I have been waiting to receive pre-approvals in the mail and on the different websites (AMEX, Chase, Cap1, Cardmatch), but nothing ever comes up for me. I have never opted out of anything. How can I check why I am not receiving any pre-approvals? I think I have decent credit and should be pre-approved for something. My brother has no credit profile, yet is receiving mail offers from different banks.
NOTE: I never looked at my social security card(nor did my parents apparently), and last year realized my last name was spelled incorrectly (missing a letter), and had it corrected at the Social Security office. Address is the same address I grew up on. I don’t know if that makes a difference?
Cards I have:
AMEX PRG
Chase CSP – 10k
Chase Freedom – 10k
FNBO Secured – 1k
AMEX SPG(AU) – 30k
Cap1 Quicksilver(AU) – 6.5k
Cap1 Platinum(AU) – 3.5k
Thanks in advance for the help.
You ever freeze your credit reports at all? Have you tried the on-line pre-quals?
I have never frozen my credit reports. I have tried online pre-qualify on different sites but nothing ever comes up.

I thought by default you were opted in with the option to opt out? How do I check whether I am opted in or out?

You can google "how to opt-in or opt-out" and opt-in again at the site just to be sure.
I'm still never preapproved for anthing with scores nearing 770. Guess the data miners haven't gotten to me yet?
I have good credit and only rarely receive preapprovals.
Not sure why, but it might be that they're looking for people who are likely to pay interest, or who buy a lot of stuff.
I would pull a credit report to see if Info they have is same.
Example I found my Middle name was listed on Transunion as my first name. Go figure
the only time I get preapprovals other than from First Premier is when my credit reports less than 10% util
