Not that I know of, but I've heard they have pretty tight credit requirements compared to most banks. As in, you need to have good credit, not too many recent accounts, and I think I've heard they're very sensitive about too many inquiries.

Eek. How's 3 INQs in the last 6 months? (don't want to go too far back and bloat that # lol)

Oh yes for sure they do.

I have 6 TU inquiries with their name on them right now.😂

The inqs isn't a major factor. It's new accounts.

UW specifically told me that a couple of years ago.

They weren't concerned with my total credit limits as a whole.

Re: Why do you like the US Bank Cash+?

It was a goal card a few years ago but I never applied. By the time I was confident my history was sufficient to get one, I had lost interest as a travel SUB chaser.

A $150 SUB is better than I realized. A few things hold me back, though:

My recurring spend is too low (internet, streaming, cell, utility) to merit a special card. My variable spend is too unpredictable (department stores and clothing...I use my ShopRunner, portals, and cards to run some transactions for family) and some of that gets steered to Amex for the Saks credit or other promotions.

With BofA WWF Cash Rewards and PH, I could get 5.25% and use any wasted part of the cap towards Costco spend. So that's a more likely app for me in the near future.

If I did eventually go for an Altitude Reserve, is having Cash+ for a year sufficient history? Or they want checking/savings/investments?

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

And how many new accounts in the last 6/12/24 months is too many for a baddie-free profile? Are we talking like 1, 4, or 8 in the last year?

I am reading they even look into biz account too if you apply via SSN instead of EIN, which would definitely
kill me since I got 2 biz ones in the last few weeks. I hope I am wrong on that.

A few days is enough history!   My daughter got hers within 2 weeks of opening a bank account.

One or two, profile dependent.

I had two and had to recon last April

They've tightened UW criteria since even more.

What's worse, they are unwilling to recon denials for new accounts now. Other reasons, yes. New accounts, nope.

I don't remember for the Cash+ specifically, but for the AR they pull one at random.   That's what I was told by a CSR.  I had unfrozen only TU and it didn't go through.   Once I unfroze all of them, they pulled EX.  And they also pulled EX for the REI card.   This is in MA.   Which may meet M_Smart007's definition of a strange state!

Re: Why do you like the US Bank Cash+?

@wasCB14  dont get a different card to get AR, they will "count" that one, too.

If you can open checking account, stash $25.00 and wait a few days.

If opening a bank account is not possible, Cash+ is one way in, but again, they count their own cards as new accounts 😐
