I have done nothing wrong to these guys yet they just deny deny deny. I have had a home depot card with them for 5 years, perfect payment history and they can't even give me a CLI from the measly $500 starter limit.
I apply for a Best Buy card and nope. DENIED! Even on Recon. I applied about 6 months ago for a CITI Hilton card and was denied for that as well.
While chase just gave me a new southwest card with a 13k limit and I just got my second barclays (Sallie Mae) with a $5000 limit and even a lowes card (the competitor to home depot) for 1k reconned to 12.5k.
Why is Citi like this?

It just happens. Just like Cap1 doesnt like me. I've applied at least 4 times, denial everytime. At least they reasoned it as "short AAoA". What's the reason they said?
Maybe they just hate you
Why were you declined? Reasons?
An old charge off from 2009 with a credit union. was the reason.
Makes no sense. everyone else is approving me with that same CO still showing.

Did you call for a recon?
One thing thats almost certain that i keep seeing in here and have experienced myself is that there always seems to be that one lender in a group that refuses to compete.
Maybe in OP's case, it just happens to be Citi.
Now for me, it was Crap1 and to a lesser extent Discover. Does make you wonder why but not much anymore since with some it's a common trend.
Chase for me. They never approve me

Yep Im beginning to agree with this.
I have Barclays, Chase, Cap 1 and SyncB
I have that one Citi home depot from 5 years ago but even that is on the fritz. Cant even get a $100 CLI.
Are you EX and EQ scores in your siggy current? Citi might not be keen on them.

When you say 'just', how recent are these tradelines? Citi is known to be gun shy when you have a few new accounts showing on your report.
