Why is AMEX slow to post charges?

I purchased a song on Tuesday and it has yet to post.  Had I used my BOA card the charges would've appeared immediately, although it would show as pending.

On Amex Charge Cards they now have "pending charges" link at top of account online, not sure if same on credit cards too

I've noticed the same thing--I love how quick BofA is.  Both my new AmEx and my Discover take FOREVER.  At least AmEx lets you see pending charges--I don't think Discover does (or at least I haven't figure out a way to do it yet!) and it drives me crazy.

My Blue Cash card doesn't show pending charges.

I have Blue Cash and the "Pending Charges" is located in "Recent Activity."  Top left corner of your little activity chart.  I got an email from Amex like 2-3 weeks ago stating that the "Pending Charges" is being added to accounts as well.. .  Maybe call them?

Thanks!  I see the pending charge using the direction you gave.   They shouldn't make cardmembers hunt for it.
