I was added to my grandfather's Discover card as an AU back on Aug 25. It still hasnt shown up yet on my credit report. I have confirmed with them that they do report AU but they told me its up to the CRA weather they report it or not?? Does that sound right? The CRA's say they report everything given to them as soon as they get it....Discover does have my SSN. We live at different addresses, could that be the problem? I cant figure out. Why is it not showing up?
They have my name, dob, and ssn. They confirmed that they report AU. They have even sent off cycle reports to the cra's. Is it the cras's that arent reporting it? I dont understand it. Even discover says they are baffled as to why it hasnt shown up.
Discover only reports AUs if you live at the same address. This is how they are able to verify they are adding/reporting the right person as an AU to your account. Since Discover doesn't request the AUs SSN...how else will they know who you're adding just by name if the person you're adding shares a different address?
They DO have my SSN. They have also confirmed that they report Authorized users. Thats why i cant understand why it isnt showing up.
I show up on both TU and EX but not EX as an AU on DW's Discover which really throws off my AAoA between the three. Is there a way to get EX to show it?
Wreith,
How long after you were added did it show up?

TBH I don't really know, I've been an AU for about 10 years now on DW's Discover. They have my SSN as well, and every time I call to discuss my acct, it always associates me with hers first.
