I am seriously appalled at the lack of customer service that US Bank offers and I really wonder how they compete in the financial industry.
Their overall offering of products is lackluster, everything is done manually, takes weeks to get responses on apps, very ill informed CSR's....and the list goes on.
B of A and Chase in my expereince far exceed the service you get from US Bank and offer better products, better CL, recons etc.
Ive had enough of these guys and Im cancelling my newly converted Platimum card. I just cant see any reason to give them my business.....they are the Time Warner of the banking industry.
Might be time to get a new slogan too..."ALL OF US SERVING YOU"....what a joke.
THey have at least two very good cards, Cash + and Flexperks.
I've read many warnings and complaints about thier costumer service, but that deters me lttle from wanting the Cash+ card. That one at least is far from lack luster .

Well I deal with it for the Cash+ but for the most part I agree their customer service is lacking. I'm still burned up over online check deposit costs money.
It's worth mentioning I had a very pleasant interaction with one of the CSR's when I inadvertantly applied for Cash+. I calle to ask a few questions about my checking acct and she didn't do anything over the top, but was actually a very enjoyable person to speak with. It seemed to make her day when I said I wanted to apply for Cash+ card (along with mine when it was approved)
Unfortunately most of my other interactions with them are how you describe them.
I've had good experience with US Bank csr. One of the tech reps actually went through his programming code to answer one of my questions.
The reason to do business with US Bank regardless of any customer service issues is the Cash + card.
I have two of them and they are two of my favorites.

Yes, I was surprised when I saw that, since none of the banks I have (about 8 of them) charge for this. Should certainly be cheaper for them than mailing in deposits, but I guess they feel they can charge for the convenience.

I like the CASH+ but is it really that great? The 5% is capped at $2000 per quarter right...so the max you can earn is $400 on $8k yearly spend on 2 specific categories.
I suppose if you ar able to get two that would bump it up to $16k spend. I think its a good card but kind of overrated due to the $2K cap.

It's not THAT great (it was when it was uncapped, had all those good categories, and unlimited bonuses), but still, not bad. Being able to choose the categories is a huge improvement over the revolvers, and the cap on the discover and Freedeom is even less. And BCP gives only $360 on groceries, with an AF.
So if you are looking for lots of cash back, this isn't going to do it (need Blue Cash or similar) but among the capped 5% cards, it is very good.
I agree about the online check deposit fee - but figure i couldn't drive there to deposit it for 50c - but yeah..........
On a different note, I have their Android app and it absolutely sucks - have to take check pictures 7 or 8 times before it can read them - anyone have this problem with Android?? seems ok on the iPad
