Why is USAA messing with my head with credit card offer =/

Suppose to be gardening and got in the mail today to get $10 statement credit if I make five $25 purchases in a month.  Seriously, who couldn't do this?  So, of course I log in to accept, and gee, what else happens to be there?  A pre-select for a USAA Cash Rewards Platinum Visa Card Smiley Frustrated

I would normally be happy about this but I'm suppose to be in the garden.  Why does USAA want to tempt me like this?  I have waaaaaaaaay to many inquiries and if I take the bait, I'm sure I wont be happy with the terms - and that's if I'm approved Smiley Sad

Let me garden for now USAA!!!!!  Quit messing with me! I need to do this otherwise I'll be stuck at a mediocre credit score forever! Didn't think staying in the garden would be this hard.

Just be happy you're eligible for a card from them.  USAA and NFCU are two I wouldn't mind adding, but I don't meet eligibility criteria.

Re: Why is USAA messing with my head with credit card offer =/

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to take the offer but right now I just cant Smiley Sad

Eight inquiries on EquiFax, six on Experian, and five on TransUnion in the past year.  Score has dropped like a rock from 730->665 Equifax.  I guess it's now just a waiting game.  It would have been a good card to go with my USAA World MC, but with the lower score, I doubt I'd get a good limit.

Re: Why is USAA messing with my head with credit card offer =/

Inquiries and new lines of credit - 7 months ago I had 0 revolving accounts.  The first three accounts shot me up to 730, then the last four, I came crashing down.  Too much too fast.  I'm a noob, didn't know any better Smiley Tongue

Re: Why is USAA messing with my head with credit card offer =/

Also, charged up 10% utilization over all 7 cards - some of the reporting balances were so minuscule, I didn't realize that would affect credit score.  But, I've recently learned to let only one card show a balance if you can help it.  I think I'll get quite a few points back when only 2 of my cards actually show a balance next month.

Re: Why is USAA messing with my head with credit card offer =/

@But what about the inquiries?  Too many to go for another card with USAA? My current card with them is the World MC @ 16.9%, $7000 CL.  Probably a bad move to try to accept the offer? AAoA is only 8 months - only because I had a auto loan 3 years ago.
